Two of NY's governors in a row .... Andrew Douche Canoe and Kathy Commie Hochul ... have "invited" or demanded that New Yorkers who don't think like them ... leave the state. That's right. That's just how arrogant NY governors are.
Imagine their surprise when, of all things, NYers took them up on their offers!
And now ... now that NY can't pay the bills they've wracked up with blue state policies can't pay their bills. Imagine that!?
Now ... Kathy is begging them to come back and pay for her reckless social policies. Who wants to take a guess as to how that's gonna work out? Anyone?
Jump on a Bus (But Please Come Back)
[Verse 1]
Back in '22, she stood so proud and tall
Said "If you don't like it here, there's the door down the hall"
"Jump on a bus!" she cried, "We don't need your kind!"
Now the budget's looking thin and she's changed her mind
[Chorus]
Oh, jump on a bus, jump on a bus
That's what you told us, without any fuss
But now you're begging us to please come home
'Cause the tax base left you all alone
Jump on a bus... but please come back to us
[Verse 2]
They packed their millions up and headed down to Florida
Where the sun is always shining and the tax man's cordial-er
Texas called their name with that zero income rate
Now Albany's crying 'bout the budget they can't make
[Chorus]
Oh, jump on a bus, jump on a bus
We did exactly what you told us
Now you need our "high net worth" to pay your bills
But we're sipping margaritas, getting sunshine thrills
Jump on a bus... sorry, can't discuss
[Bridge]
You wanted "generous social programs" paid by someone else
But when the someone else departed, you're left talking to yourself
The irony's so thick, you could cut it with a knife
When you tell half your tax base to get out of your life
[Verse 3]
"Please come back!" she pleads at fancy summit meetings
While we're down in Miami at the yacht club greetings
You said we weren't welcome if we didn't toe the line
Now you're shocked we took you seriously? Girl, that's just fine!
[Final Chorus]
We jumped on that bus, jumped on that bus
Did what you said without any fuss
Now you're learning what happens when you push away
The very people who were funding your buffet
We jumped on that bus... and we're not coming back, Gus
[Outro]
So here's a little lesson for the governors to come
When you tell folks to leave, well, they might just run
And when the bills come due and the coffers are bare
Don't act surprised when the wealthy aren't there
'Cause they jumped on that bus...
Yeah, they jumped on that bus...
Just like you told them to
