Restorationism

In my youth ... in my early years ... I considered myself a Regan conservative.
In my 30s and 40s, with my nose to the work grindstone, I probably paid less attention to politics than in any time in my life, but I recognized some strong libertarian leanings.
Now solidly in midlife, I recognize that liberalism has led to progressive socialism and has taken us very far in the wrong direction.
So too, do I recognize the ineffectiveness of conservatism because, at this point, what are we to conserve?
Lately I have come to Recognize that I am perhaps a restorationist… Having heard that term used on a podcast recently.
We are at a point in the ark of our nations history that unless we restore our uniquely American values that this experiment will quickly draw to an end.
We must restore, honor, and integrity to all of our societal systems. From politics to business to religion to education … Those institutions and more have become severely corrupt in the absence of honor and integrity.
We must restore our constitutional republic and absolve ourselves from the absurd notion that we are a democracy.
We must restore a culture of respect and strength and courage and resilience and genuine care for our fellow travelers.
I think I see restoration ism as the process by which we can embrace some of these strengths of our modern economy with its tremendous advances in technology and energy While restoring our philosophical, religious, political foundations.
Like a house whose foundation has begun to crumble, it’s structure has begun to weaken and buckle and warp. If we can restore our fundamental beliefs as a spouse by many of our founders and as amplified by many of our nations, great leaders these past 250 years, we stand a chance of becominga great nation once again.
