Restorationism

November 1, 2025

Time to bring back honor, integrity's flame ...

I wish I could remember when it was but I was driving somewhere, listening to a podcast, and the guy being interviewed referred to himself as a "restorationist". It was the first time I had heard that term and now, probably a year later, I realize there's an entire restorationist movement. Who knew?

At the time, I jotted down some thoughts and later turned it into a blog post. Today I decided to turn it into lyrics and then a song. Here's the result.

Restorationism

(Verse 1)

In my younger days, I stood tall and proud,

A Reagan conservative, sayin' it out loud.

Through my thirties and forties, grindin' day by day,

Libertarian winds blowin' my way.

But now in midlife, eyes wide open clear,

Liberalism's path led us straight to fear—

Progressive socialism, takin' us astray,

And conservatism? What's left to save today?

(Chorus - Two-Part Harmony)

I'm a restorationist, callin' out the name,

Time to bring back honor, integrity's flame.

Restore our values, uniquely American dream,

From politics to business, religion's gleam.

No more corruption in education's halls,

We're fixin' the foundation before it all falls.

Restorationism, let's turn back the tide,

Build a stronger nation, with courage as our guide.

(Verse 2)

We've strayed from the republic our founders laid down,

Absolve the myth we're just a democracy crown.

Restore respect and strength, resilience so true,

Genuine care for the folks next to you.

Embrace the tech and energy, modern and bright,

But anchor it deep in our philosophical light.

From leaders past, amplify their wise call,

250 years strong, we won't let it fall.

(Chorus - Two-Part Harmony)

I'm a restorationist, callin' out the name,

Time to bring back honor, integrity's flame.

Restore our values, uniquely American dream,

From politics to business, religion's gleam.

No more corruption in education's halls,

We're fixin' the foundation before it all falls.

Restorationism, let's turn back the tide,

Build a stronger nation, with courage as our guide.

(Bridge)

Like a house on a hill where the base starts to crack,

Structure bucklin' under, no turnin' back.

But if we shore up those beliefs from the start,

Founders' wisdom pumpin' life to the heart—

We'll stand a chance to rise once more,

A great nation reborn, forevermore.

(Final Chorus - Two-Part Harmony, Building)

I'm a restorationist, hear the rally cry,

Restore the republic under freedom's sky.

Honor and integrity in every single vein,

Courage and care, breakin' free from the chain.

Restorationism, it's our savin' grace,

Embrace the future, but reclaim our place.

We'll be great again, standin' proud and true,

Restorationism, for me and for you.
