What the years have stolen, Lord, restore

I don't suppose there's a marriage that lasted more than a decade that couldn't use a little revival. I'm guessing there are many that won't last without it. This piece was inspired by Bible verses pointing at just this topic. May it be a blessing to you or someone you know.

Revive Our Marriage

[Verse 1 — Male Lead]

The Lord is near the broken heart,

We’ve both been there, torn apart.

But love still whispers through the pain,

That grace can bloom after the rain.

[Verse 2 — Female Lead]

I’ve tried to forget, I’ve tried to forgive,

You said you’d change, and I believe you did.

We’re learning love that bears and hopes,

The kind that bends but never broke.

[Chorus — Both (Harmony)]

Revive our marriage, breathe life anew,

You said You’d make all things brand new.

What the years have stolen, Lord, restore,

Let mercy build what we were fighting for.

[Verse 3 — Male Lead]

I’ve walked through shame, faced who I am,

But You still call me, “Rise again.”

Your forgiveness taught my heart to see,

That love is stronger than memory.

[Verse 4 — Female Lead]

Love keeps no record, it learns to heal,

It trusts again though it’s hard to feel.

If grace is the river that runs through time,

Let it wash our hearts and make them rhyme.

[Chorus — Both (Harmony Stronger)]

Revive our marriage, breathe life anew,

Teach us to love like You taught us to.

Let patience hold and kindness stay,

Bind us in love that won’t fade away.

[Bridge — Both (Soft, intertwined)]

Forget the former things behind,

You’re doing a new thing in our lives.

Hands once trembling now intertwine,

Redeemed, restored, redefined.

[Final Chorus — Both (Lifted, Hopeful)]

Revive our marriage, breathe Your life in,

From ashes we’ll rise again.

What’s lost, You promise to restore,

Love still lives — forevermore.

[Outro (Gentle, Reflective)]

“Love bears all things, believes all things,

Endures through every storm that rings.”

In You, we’ve found the strength to say —

We’ll love through night ‘til the light of day.
