Not chosen, but remembered in the light

This piece was inspired by an interview  Rychard Syrett conducted with author and researcher Daniel Bourke entitled "Your Dreams Are Showing You The Future". They explored a phenomenological cousin to déjà vu called déjà rêvé where people believe they fall in love at second sight ... having met their soulmate in a dream perhaps long ago. I instantly knew it was time to tell a bit of that story this way.

Déjà Rêvé

[Intro - Soft ethereal whispers, fading synths]

In the veil of night... we knew...

[Verse 1]

I saw your eyes in a silver dream

Before the dawn, before you came

Whispers of touch on forgotten shores

Echoes of us, from lives before

Your silhouette danced in midnight haze

A promise hidden in starlit maze

[Chorus]

Déjà rêvé, love at second sight

Not chosen, but remembered in the light

Souls entwined where the shadows play

We fell into what we always knew

Love's not a spark, it's a flame we knew

Déjà rêvé... we remember you

[Verse 2]

You dreamed my name on a restless wind

Felt my heartbeat where the worlds begin

No first hello, just a knowing glance

Time folded back in eternal dance

Through veils of sleep, our fates aligned

A mystic pull we couldn't deny

[Chorus]

Déjà rêvé, love at second sight

Not chosen, but remembered in the light

Souls entwined where the shadows play

We fell into what we always knew

Love's not a spark, it's a flame we knew

Déjà rêvé... we remember you

[Bridge - Building emotion, layered harmonies, subtle strings]

Is it destiny or memory's call?

From dream to dawn, we rise, we fall

No accident, no fleeting fire

Just ancient embers, lifting higher

[Outro - Fading echoes, soft piano and reverb]

Déjà rêvé... love we remember

In every breath... forever together...
