My DEI Statement

March 27, 2025

... it ain’t what ya think, dog

My DEI Statement

*(Verse 1)*

I’m a dirt-road daughter, raised on open land,

Truth don’t twist to fit no woke demand.

They’re preachin’ diversity all day long,

But I’ve got my own kinda song.

*(Pre-Chorus)*

Inclusion’s forced, equity’s the creed,

But I ain’t kneelin’ to that need.

My heart’s singin’ somethin’ real,

A different way to feel.

*(Chorus)*

Here’s my DEI statement, plain and true,

Ain’t what they’re pushin’ on me and you.

Diversity of thought’s my stand,

Equality’s a chance, not a plan.

Inclusion for all, no shade, no script,

Just freedom to speak, let it rip.

*(Spoken Word Interlude 1 - Gritty)*

“So in this woke world, they say embrace diversity,

Fight for inclusion, bow to equity.

Well, here’s my DEI statement—it ain’t what ya think, dog.”

*(Verse 2)*

They hush the voices that don’t play nice,

Skin and words gotta match precise.

But I won’t bow to their design,

I’m claimin’ what’s mine.

*(Pre-Chorus)*

No scripted lines, no puppet show,

I’ll take the road where wild winds blow.

Opinions clash, that’s how we grow,

Not lockstep, bro.

*(Chorus)*

Here’s my DEI statement, plain and true,

Ain’t what they’re pushin’ on me and you.

Diversity of thought’s my stand,

Equality’s a chance, not a plan.

Inclusion for all, no shade, no script,

Just freedom to speak, let it rip.

*(Spoken Word Interlude 2 - Sassy)*

“I support diversity of opinion, y’all.

Equality of opportunity—not outcome, bro.

Inclusion? Every view, not just the ‘right’ hue or tale.”

*(Bridge)*

Steel guitar wails, drums hit hard,

I’m singin’ truth from my backyard.

No dogma’s gonna tie me tight,

Rebel heart in the fight.

*(Chorus)*

Here’s my DEI statement, plain and true,

Ain’t what they’re pushin’ on me and you.

Diversity of thought’s my stand,

Equality’s a chance, not a plan.

Inclusion for all, no shade, no script,

Just freedom to speak, let it rip.

*(Outro)*

Crank it up, let my voice ring,

Hard country soul in everything.

A woman bold, I won’t back down,

This is my sound, my town.
