Two-Faced Chuck

March 24, 2025

Oh, Chuck, Chuck, you flip-flop king ...

Title: "Chuck’s Two-Faced Blues"

(Jazz / Spoken Word Style)

(Verse 1)

Well, gather ‘round, cats, let me lay it down slow,

Chuck Schumer’s playin’ a game, don’t you know?

Up on the Hill, he’s struttin’ his stuff,

Talkin’ filibuster like he’s had enough.

“Scrap it,” he cries, with a righteous wail,

Democracy’s dyin’, it’s a pitiful tale.

But rewind the tape, let’s take a peek,

Back in ‘06, he sang a different streak.

(Chorus)

Oh, Chuck, Chuck, you flip-flop king,

Swingin’ to the beat of whatever it brings.

Jazz of the Senate, you bend and you sway,

Hypocrisy’s the tune you play every day.

(Verse 2)

Back in the day, when the power flipped,

Minority rights were his holy script.

Filibuster was gold, a shield in his hand,

Kept the Dems alive in Republican land.

“Protect the weak,” he’d preach and plea,

A guardian of rules, oh, so virtuously.

Now the table’s turned, he’s got the crown,

Same ol’ rules? Man, he’s tearin’ ‘em down.

(Bridge)

Dig this groove, it’s a slippery slide,

Truth’s a shadow he’s tryin’ to hide.

One day it’s sacred, next day it’s trash,

Principles bend when you’re countin’ the cash.

He’s blowin’ that horn, but the notes don’t match,

A double-talk solo with a partisan catch.

(Chorus)

Oh, Chuck, Chuck, you flip-flop king,

Swingin’ to the beat of whatever it brings.

Jazz of the Senate, you bend and you sway,

Hypocrisy’s the tune you play every day.

(Verse 3)

Cal’s callin’ him out, pen sharp as a blade,

Lubbock’s watchin’, they ain’t afraid.

“Chuck, you soared to heights we can’t ignore,

Hypocrisy’s a kite you let fly and soar.”

Voting rights now? He’s got the fix,

But power’s the game, not justice’s kicks.

Majority rules, till it don’t no more,

Then he’ll flip again—same ol’ score.

(Outro)

So tap your feet to this jazzy lament,

Chuck’s two-faced blues, they’re heaven-sent.

A spoken-word riff on a senator’s grind,

Truth’s in the rhythm, if you’re so inclined.

Blow that sax, let the bassline hum,

Schumer’s hypocrisy? Man, it’s just begun.
